Jacqueline Fernandez hails from Manama in Bahrain. Her family was raised in a multiethnic household. Her father Elroy Fernandez hails from Sri Lanka (Sinhalese - Catholic)and her mother Kim is Malaysian. There are two older brothers, and two younger ones. In the wake of turmoil in the country, her parents relocated to Bahrain during the 1980s. The scholarship she received allowed her to attend the University of Sydney in Sydney Australia after she had completed her education in Bahrain. As a lover of culture and different languages, she enrolled in Berlitz Language School, where she studied Spanish as well as enhancing her French and Arabic. Miss Sri Lanka 2006 was title in the month of March, 2006; she also participated in Miss Universe 2006 Following her winning the 2006 Miss Sri Lanka win, Padukone stepped into the world of television and hosted a show about Sri Lankan businesses known as Lanka Business Report. Padukone is the daughter of badminton star Prakash Padukone. She was brought up in Bangalore and was born in Copenhagen. When she was a teenager she participated in national badminton events, but she backed off the sport and became a designer. Padukone is of Mangalorean origin Her mother language is Konkani. Padukone, a village in Kundapura Taluk located in Udupi located in Karnataka State in India is where her family comes from. Her father, Prakash Padukone, is a retired badminton player of world-class fame, while her mother is a travel agent.
